The second phase of the review of technical committees for sensitive food products, aimed at modernizing technical regulations and ensuring the quality and safety of food products in the country, continues. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, since September of this year, more than 50 organizations from the dairy, meat, grains and cereals, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables sectors, have participated in intensive technical workshops. The MICI emphasized that the next stage will consist of submitting the documents to national and international public consultation, thus consolidating a key regulatory process for the country. This work is being carried out by consensus and in compliance with international standards such as the Codex Alimentarius and the commitments of the World Trade Organization (WTO). With the backing of the Directorate General of Standards and Industrial Technology (DGNTI), the advances reflect the commitment of the productive and industrial sectors to strengthening national competitiveness and food security.
