Panama Lowers Gasoline and Diesel Prices

The National Energy Secretariat announced that, starting Friday, December 26, 2025, and lasting through Thursday, January 8, 2026, new maximum consumer prices for liquid fuels will take effect, expressed in cents of balboa per liter.

According to the official statement, the price of 95-octane gasoline decreased by 3.2 cents per liter, from 86.4 to 83.2 cents. The price of 91-octane gasoline saw a reduction of 2.6 cents, from 80.8 to 78.2 cents per liter, while low-sulfur diesel decreased by 3.7 cents, from 80.6 to 76.9 cents per liter.

The Secretariat explained that reference prices are calculated based on international quotations of finished products—gasolines and diesel—in the Gulf Coast of the United States, the country's main supplier market. This adjustment is made every 14 days.

During the period under review, international quotations registered significant reductions, which are directly reflected in final consumer prices.

In the case of Panama and Colón, the maximum prices will be 83.2 cents per liter for 95-octane gasoline, 78.2 cents for 91-octane, and 76.9 cents for diesel.

In the interior of the country, prices vary according to distance and transportation costs, reaching the highest levels in Changuinola, at 88.2 cents for 95-octane gasoline, 83.2 cents for 91-octane, and 81.9 cents per liter for diesel.
