Panama. A 32-year-old citizen transporting 18 boxes with hundreds of contraband strawberries was apprehended at the San Isidro checkpoint in the province of Chiriquí, after attempting to evade units of the National Border Service (Senafront). According to Subcommissioner José Camargo, executive of the Western Fourth Brigade, the pickup driver tried to evade the checkpoint, which is why he was detained and the vehicle was requisitioned. 900 undeclared packages of strawberries were found inside. After the seizure, the driver, the vehicle, and the contraband fruit were placed at the disposal of the Customs Prevention and Control Directorate (DPFA).
