Momo Homes Builds Panama Factory for US Home Exports

Australian-owned Momo Homes is investing in a new factory in Panama to manufacture prefabricated homes for export to the US. The new facility will reduce logistics costs and accelerate deliveries thanks to the country's strategic location.

Momo Homes, an Australian-owned company operating in Panama, announced the construction of a factory to manufacture single-family homes for export, primarily to the US market. According to executives, the factory's location in Panama drastically reduces container handling time and cost, leveraging Panama's favorable trade relationship with the US to improve landed cost and delivery speed. Yesterday, Panama's Minister of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó, met with company representatives. They explained that unlike modular construction, Momo homes are assembled on-site and permitted as conventional structures, while maintaining factory-quality control and efficiency. Momo Homes operates a globally integrated supply chain, optimized for cost, quality, and speed. During the meeting, CEO Stewart Hall, along with Chief Operating Officer Benjamin Piggott and Founder Charles Gale, detailed to Minister Moltó the successful operational structure they have built in Panama for exporting to a demanding market like the US. The entrepreneurs highlighted Panama's logistical importance. The prefabricated homes arrive as fully integrated building systems: cold-formed steel structural panels, pre-wired and pre-installed kits, and high-specification aluminum doors and windows. The model encompasses three stages: sourcing in Asia, precision manufacturing in Panama, and delivery-assembly at US job sites. These are community formats and housing solutions designed to provide speed, predictability, and resilience. The package also includes all electrical appliances and HVAC, finishes, roofs, floors, cabinets, insulation, and finishing components.
