Panama and Microsoft Collaborate on AI and Education

In Davos, Panamanian ministers met with Microsoft representatives to discuss technology and AI support programs for taxation, pensions, and education. Cybersecurity and the student computer program were also discussed.


Panama and Microsoft Collaborate on AI and Education

Within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Ministers Felipe Chapman (Economy and Finance) and José Ramón Icaza (Canal Affairs and Goals) met with Chris Berry, Vice President of Public Industries at Microsoft. The meeting laid the groundwork for a support program using technology and artificial intelligence to find solutions for the fiscal area, the pension system, and the education sector. The possibility of a special purchase of licenses for about five public entities and the Social Security Fund (CSS) was also evaluated. Furthermore, Microsoft representatives offered support in cybersecurity and tools to improve the tax collection system and expressed their interest in supporting the computer program for students led by the Ministry of Education (Meduca).
