Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino met at the World Economic Forum with representatives of three corporate giants, Citibank, Maersk, and AES, who expressed interest in new investments in Panama within the commercial, maritime, energy, and financial sectors. On the second day of this major global event, Mulino met with senior executives from the American bank Citi. They discussed topics of mutual interest related to new port terminal infrastructure projects presented by the Panama Canal Authority, aimed at increasing the capacity, efficiency, and competitiveness of the Panamanian port system. During the meeting, President Mulino also discussed with representatives of the Danish shipping company Maersk the strategic importance of Panama to their global network and the potential of these initiatives to position the country as a world-class logistics hub. Additionally, Mulino discussed with AES Corporation President Andrés Gluski the expansion of their power generation plant and the company's interest in investing in the Bayano Lake project. Throughout the meetings, the president was accompanied by ministers and cabinet members, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Economy and Finance, Minister of Canal Affairs, and Minister of Trade and Industries, as well as the Secretary of Economic Affairs and Competitiveness.
