On behalf of Citi, Jay Collins, Vice President of Banking and Public Sector, and Jason Rekate, Head of Corporate Banking, participated, expressing the interest of this financial corporation in strengthening its historical relationship with Panama through new financing programs for high-impact projects such as those mentioned by President Mulino. The executives presented an analysis of the world economic forecast, interest rates for the debt market, and the impact of the new geopolitics and the situation in Latin America. President Mulino also held a meeting with representatives of the Danish shipping company Maersk, the second largest in the world. In the meetings, the companies expressed their interest in new investments in Panama, within the commercial, maritime, energy, and financial sectors. Finally, the president thanked Maersk for accepting to be co-chair of the Country Strategy Meeting of the World Economic Forum, to be held in Panama on October 21 and 22. The other meeting of President Mulino was with AES Corporation President Andrés Gluski, who explained the progress of his expansion in his gas-based power generation plant. He also expressed the company's interest in investing in the Lake Bayano project. AES Corporation is a Fortune 500 multinational dedicated to the generation of electrical energy.
