Panama Presents New Livestock Projects for 2026

The National Livestock Directorate of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) presented new projects to be implemented in 2026 in the livestock sector. During a series of national meetings with staff from all regional offices across the country, the strategic lines of the projects 'Improvement of Production Systems for Minor Species' and 'Strengthening the Comprehensive Management of Livestock' were announced. According to MIDA, these initiatives are aimed at increasing the productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness of Panama's livestock sector. Sara Feliú, National Director of Livestock, reiterated the importance of this direct approach with the regional offices, highlighting that the correct execution of the projects depends on the coordinated work between the National Directorate as a regulatory entity and the Regional Directorates as executing bodies, together with their technical and administrative team. 'We need to function as a single gear, with a common vision and clear objectives, to ensure the correct execution, proper functioning, and measurement of results that allow the sustainability of the projects for the benefit of Panamanian livestock,' said Feliu.
