United States Aligns with National College of Lawyers, Views It as a Pillar of Confidence for Investors

The United States Ambassador to Panama, Kevin Marino Cabrera, affirmed that the visit to the National College of Lawyers (CNA) represents institutional backing for the guild's efforts to strengthen professional ethics and consolidate the country's credibility before the international community. In statements to the media after the meeting, Cabrera highlighted that the ethical conduct of lawyers is a determining factor in the perception foreign investors have when evaluating Panama as a destination for placing capital. "It is about ensuring they have the highest ethics within the legal profession," he noted. The ambassador also indicated that the stability of the legal framework is a decisive factor for attracting international investment, as it allows capital to operate in predictable and reliable environments. "People invest when they feel comfortable, when there is a legal state that is clear, respected, and does not change from one government to another," he stated. Likewise, he reiterated that from the U.S. Embassy, they work permanently to promote Panama as a country open to investment, as long as it is sustainable and generates local benefits. "We are looking for lasting investments that hire Panamanians and contribute to the economic growth of both countries," he concluded.
