In this context, Eliceo Rivera, president of the Civic Movement for a Better Donoso, stated that they have been working hand in hand with the mining company on various activities in coastal and mountainous communities of difficult access. These include cleaning beaches and green areas, as well as painting educational centers in communities like Nazaret, Guásimo de Donoso, Limón, and others. Therefore, he thanked the company for the employment opportunities provided, which many young people like him aspire to in order to develop their personal and professional skills and improve their families' quality of life. He mentioned that the goal is to generate employment for Donoso and reactivate the economy in the region. They also highlighted the 400 jobs that have benefited the residents of Río Caimito, Coclé del Norte, Nuevo San José, and Miguel de la Borda. Sara Mariota, a representative of the Guásimo district, asked for real help for rural communities. Aldris Cedeño, a 21-year-old young man from the Belencillo community in the Lower Coast of Colón, shared his testimony at the event held at the Miguel de la Borda educational center. He highlighted that, despite having no work experience, he was hired. "I thank the company for listening to us and supporting us. We are holding hands to ultimately generate jobs for our people," he said. During the accountability report, support for the education sector was announced, with 44 schools in the provinces of Coclé and Colón receiving food for their cafeterias with the participation of parents. The need for jobs, especially for young people, was the main voice heard at the Cobre Panamá First Quantum accountability meeting, for which the organized community is working to achieve this goal. This community movement has about 200 members dedicated to improving the conditions of their populations. The event was attended by residents of the La Pintada and San José del General districts.
