The National Energy Secretariat of Panama announced that new maximum consumer prices for liquid fuels will take effect across the country starting Friday, March 6. These prices will remain in place until March 19, 2026. According to the official update, all three main fuel types will see price increases. For example, in Panama City and Colón, 95-octane gasoline will cost 94.8 cents per liter, 91-octane gasoline will be 88.5 cents, and low-sulfur diesel will be 90.3 cents per liter. Prices in other areas of the country will be slightly higher. In David, 95-octane gasoline will be priced at 97.0 cents per liter, while in Changuinola it will reach 99.9 cents. Low-sulfur diesel, in turn, will hit 95.4 cents per liter in that same region. The Secretariat explained that in calculating prices for this period, the impact of the recent conflict in the Middle East is still limited, as the reference mechanism incorporates mainly two market days following the events. A rising trend in international fuel prices was already observed before this situation, associated with market dynamics and not directly linked to Iran.
