Panama is undertaking two mega-projects that will put the country on the energy map.
President José Raúl Mulino held a meeting with high-ranking U.S. government officials. He discussed with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright the projects aimed at consolidating Panama's position as a regional energy center and maintaining its leadership as a logistics hub for world trade.
During the meeting, plans for two mega-ports and a multimodal center in Puerto Armuelles were presented. Mulino also informed his American counterparts about the progress of the electrical interconnection project with Colombia and the gas pipeline project through the Panama Canal.
Lutnick and Wright expressed their willingness to collaborate with Panama within their areas of expertise.
