The Authority for Consumer Protection and Competition Defense (Acodeco) reported that between January and February 2026, 93 cases of non-compliance with the benefits established by Law 6 of 1987, which regulates discounts for retirees, pensioners, and senior citizens, were registered. The main irregularities detected include 40 cases related to interest rates on loans, 16 for a lack of visible signs with discounts, and 14 for not applying the 25% reduction in restaurants. For these violations, the entity has imposed 12 sanctions in the first instance, totaling $16,000.
