Meduca Defends Upcoming Budget for 2025

The Minister of Education has stated that the budget for 2025 could represent 10% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) if the current structure of the institution is maintained. According to her statements, if no changes are made, salaries will continue to be paid to deceased officials and the sale of titles will persist.

"We are working to ensure transparency in the management of resources and to eliminate irregular practices that still persist in the education system," the minister pointed out.

Additionally, it is expected that the budget allocated to Education for the upcoming year will include a significant increase compared to previous years. This additional investment will focus on improving the quality of education, modernizing school infrastructures, and ensuring comprehensive training for students.

The minister emphasized the importance of optimizing resources to achieve a more efficient and equitable education system. She also highlighted the need to eradicate corrupt practices that have affected the sector in the past.

In this regard, it is expected that the budget for 2025 will reflect the Government's commitment to education and the comprehensive development of the population, establishing the foundations for a deep transformation in the Panamanian education system.
