Recently, Nobel Prize winner in economics Edmund Phillips visited Panama and expressed his views on the country's economic model. He referred to the Canal and Copa as "dragons' stones" of the Panamanian economy. According to the scholar, even in the conditions of a global economic crisis caused by the pandemic, Panama continues to demonstrate stable growth due to its maturity and diverse economy.

During his visit, Phillips also emphasized the importance of developing infrastructure and education to ensure sustainable economic growth in the long term. He stressed that countries should invest in education and research to enhance their competitiveness and stimulate innovation.

"Panama can successfully overcome current challenges if it continues to improve its infrastructure, develop education, and invest in new technologies," - emphasized the laureate of the Nobel Prize.
