The president of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, met this morning with the president of Naturgy in Spain, Francisco Reynes, and with Sebastián Pérez from Naturgy Panama, to discuss the need to improve the service that the company offers to users in Panama, in response to complaints about deficiencies and damage to electronic equipment in homes. During the meeting, held at the Palace of Las Garzas, the executives of Naturgy committed to making the necessary investments in the country to meet the demands of users.
"The president was very clear in pointing out the discontent of the population, of the clients, regarding the service being provided, in this case by Naturgy, knowing that the other company has a similar situation," expressed the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, who was present at the meeting along with other officials. The minister highlighted the president's satisfaction with the commitments made by Naturgy to improve the service.
It was detailed that the company, in coordination with ASEP, is carrying out a program of improvements with a schedule established until the end of this year. This program includes the attention to streetlights nationally, maintenance and repair work on system lines that will extend until next year, as well as the construction of new double-circuit lines at specific points to guarantee uninterrupted service during maintenance.
Zelmar Rodríguez, general administrator of the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP), mentioned that the program executed by Naturgy is the first phase of the agreed investments to improve service to users, a highly prioritized issue for the current government. Rodríguez emphasized that the supply of water and energy are critical areas that the government is closely monitoring.
The president of Naturgy Panama highlighted that the visit of the company's senior executives is a sign of the company's commitment to Panama and its interest in contributing to the benefit of the country. Despite the current difficulties, growth in energy supply is expected in the coming years, considering the new infrastructure projects underway.
In summary, the meeting between President Mulino and Naturgy executives aimed to ensure significant improvements in the electrical service offered to users in Panama, focusing on investments and maintenance programs aimed at raising the quality of service and meeting the population's demands.
