
The Minister of Security, Frank Ábrego, reported that operations will continue in places where carnival festivities are held. During the start of Carnival 2025 in Panama, four deaths were recorded due to traffic accidents.
According to the authorities, the accidents occurred in different regions of the country and are being investigated to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic events. Minister Ábrego expressed his concern about these incidents and reiterated the commitment of the security forces to maintain surveillance and ensure the safety of citizens during the festivities.
Regarding these unfortunate events, the minister called on the population to act responsibly and respect traffic regulations to prevent new incidents. Additionally, controls on the roads will be reinforced and police presence will be intensified in areas with high public attendance during Carnival.
"It is essential that we all collaborate to avoid tragedies like those that occurred at the start of Carnival. The safety of citizens is our priority," emphasized Minister Ábrego. Authorities urged citizens to enjoy the festivities safely and not to drive under the influence of alcohol or exceed speed limits.
