Sinaproc reported the establishment of a Command Post in the Loma de Quebro Commune for the coordination and direction of emergency operations in the Veraguas region.

The Post was created to manage crisis situations.

"Sinaproc reported that a Command Post has been established in the Loma de Quebro Commune for the coordination and organization of rescue teams and the evacuation of the population from affected areas," the statement said.

The main damage was reported in the provinces of Coclé and Los Santos, with extensive flooding in the Maria Mocho area. Water levels rose, causing the infrastructure to collapse and cutting off access to several residential areas from the main arteries.

Meanwhile, in the Tonosí area, in the Pueblo Nuevo sector, a landslide occurred, affecting the road access to the territory and isolating several houses and small settlements. Authorities report a significant number of victims from critical situations.

The authorities urge the population to take precautionary measures and follow the recommendations of the rescue teams.

The authorities also receive reports of fallen trees and power lines, affecting the main roads.
