At 6:00 a.m. this Saturday, alarms were activated at a factory dedicated to the production of cleaning and personal hygiene products, located in the San Miguelito district, after the sighting of smoke coming from its facilities. Immediately, 14 units of the Meritorious Fire Corps of Panama, coming from the barracks of San Miguelito, Carrasquilla and Betania, mobilized to the place to put out the fire, which originated in the filter area of the soap manufacturing tower. Firefighters, with the support of a tanker truck, fought the flames for approximately two hours, until finally managing to control the fire. Fortunately, no injuries to the company's personnel or damage to other areas of the factory were reported. The Safety Office of the Meritorious Fire Corps has initiated an investigation to determine the causes of the fire and take the corresponding measures.
