The Public Ministry formally requested the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) to execute the arrest and detention warrant against the former Vice President of the Republic, José Gabriel Carrizo Jaén, as part of an investigation into the alleged commission of a crime against public administration.
The request is contained in official document No. 731-2026, dated January 26, 2026, issued by the Corruption Prosecutor's Office of the Accusatory Penal System, Primary Attention Section, and addressed to Commissioner César Pitti, director of the DIJ.
According to the document, the procedure is based on Criminal Notice No. 202600005907, related to an investigation for alleged unjustified enrichment. In this context, the Prosecutor's Office ordered the enforcement of Resolution No. 01-2026, of January 23, 2026, which provides for the arrest and detention of the former official.
Likewise, the Public Ministry requested that Carrizo Jaén, with personal ID card 8-766-2490, be entered into the citizen verification system, as part of the procedures established within the criminal process.
