On Wednesday morning, a man died on the Panama-Colón road, near the Hugo Spadafora Polyclinic in the Coco Solo area, as a result of a traffic accident. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with an electricity pole, causing the car to overturn on the roadside. National Transit Police agents arrived at the scene and cordoned off the entire area to preserve the scene of the accident. The other three occupants of the vehicle were injured and were transported by paramedics from SUME 911 for medical attention. The incident caused a massive traffic jam for drivers heading to the city of Colón, leading many to take the highway to enter the city. An investigation into this traffic accident, which resulted in one fatality, has been initiated.
