Panama's Band Makes Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Debut

The La Primavera Music Band, from the La Primavera Bilingual Educational Center in Santiago de Veraguas, traveled to New York this week to become the first school band from Panama and Central America to participate in the historic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of the most watched events in the United States.

"Thank you for representing Panama so well!" said Ambassador Ana Irene Delgado to the Organization of American States.

This is Ambassador Delgado's second international experience accompanying the band; the first was in 2013 in London, during the New Year's Parade, when the Panama Band participated.

The Panamanian Consulate in New York and all of the country's diplomatic missions in the United States have accompanied and supported the young people throughout the experience.

Pride of Veraguas, Pride of Panama.

The La Primavera Music Band is made up of 200 students between the ages of 8 and 17, who expressed great enthusiasm and joy at experiencing this unique opportunity at a world-class event.

"Seeing them march for the first time in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an unforgettable moment for all of us."

The students expressed great enthusiasm and joy at experiencing this unique event at a world-class gathering. They have brought our rhythm, joy, and talent to one of the world's greatest stages.
