On Friday, November 28, the main town of the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena district, known as '20' in the San Juan corregimiento of the Transístmica area in Colón, filled with celebration for the 204th anniversary of Panama's independence from Spain.

In this civic parade, more than 10 primary and secondary educational centers participated, along with at least seven independent bands that marched down the main street.

Olivia Gittens, 36, traveled to the city of Colón to enjoy the independent bands, while Norman Góndola, 29, came to sell souvenirs and generate income for his household in the Cristóbal Este corregimiento.

Meanwhile, Ricardo González, a resident of San Juan, highlighted that every year visitors from the Chilibre corregimiento in North Panama arrive to enjoy the civic parade, where the main attraction is the independent bands.
