The Panama Canal reported that the controlled discharge plan at the Madden Dam remains active and, for safety reasons, the Gamboa dock area continues to be closed. This decision is in response to the need for cleaning work in the area, where the strong current caused by rains has dragged large amounts of vegetation. Additionally, the entity warned that traveling through the area poses a risk to both citizens and the teams carrying out the work, as any unauthorized transit could interfere with the operations and endanger those who approach the site. The Canal also reiterated its call to respect the restrictions while the work in the Basin, a key area for the hydraulic operation of the interoceanic route, progresses.
