On Friday afternoon, a triple collision occurred on the Inter-American Highway, in the Santa Clara district of Antón, Coclé, involving three vehicles. Preliminary data suggests that a tire on a bus traveling from Chitré to Panama exploded, causing the driver to lose control. The bus swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a gray pickup truck. It also struck another vehicle heading inland. Firefighters and paramedics from the Ministry of Health (Minsa) arrived at the scene to assist the injured, many of whom left on their own. The bus's secretary and the pickup truck driver were transported to the Aquilino Tejeira Hospital in Penonomé in stable condition despite sustaining significant injuries. In total, 46 people were affected in this collision involving the three vehicles.
