Snowland Panama, a company that organized an upcoming ice‑skating event, has announced the cancellation of the event due to delays that prevented the ice rink from operating on opening day.
The company stated that significant investments had been made in infrastructure, a ski ramp, a cold room, technical equipment, and contracts with suppliers. However, the ice‑crushing room was not ready, affecting the overall experience. Following customer complaints and a visit from the Consumer Protection and Competition Defense Authority (ACODECO), the company decided to cancel.
Snowland Panama committed to refund attendees individually, with the process handled responsibly and transparently. They also promised to contact each customer to confirm their case and provide the necessary procedure.
"Each customer will be contacted individually to confirm their case and the corresponding procedure," the statement adds.
The company emphasized that their goal was to deliver a real, well‑executed experience that matched advertising, but circumstances forced them to prioritize safety and customer satisfaction. The refund process will be orderly.
