Panamanian salsa singer and comedian Sócrates Lazo Espinosa has passed away. His death occurred last Friday. Lazo, born on July 8, 1943, leaves a musical legacy that includes six albums. His father was also a singer, as was his brother Gabino Lazo Espinosa, with whom he shared many years of his career. He is remembered for his songs “De qué vale este cariño”, “Soledad”, “Nostalgia”, “Ruego al Señor”, “No te importe saber”, “Dilo de una vez”, “La vida es un sueño”, “Quémame los ojos”, and “Tarde lo comprendo”—songs that are still remembered by many Panamanians.
