Seven Vehicle Fires Reported in Panama

Panama - The Fire Department has attended to seven cases of vehicle fires in the first 4 days of the year. In these incidents, no injuries were reported. As a preventive measure, the staff of the Emergency Medical Assistance and Rescue Service (SAMER) remained at the site to assess the firefighters who participated in responding to the incident. The 'Red Shirts' also responded to calls for two burning cars in the province of Veraguas: one in La Peña and another on the Inter-American Highway, in front of Los Tucanes. This Sunday, they responded to an emergency call in the Las Praderas neighborhood, La Herradura sector, in the district of Chorrera, in Western Panama. According to the entity, when the units arrived at the scene, the sedan was completely engulfed in flames, so they proceeded to extinguish them, preventing the fire from spreading to other areas or posing a greater risk to the community.
