In Panama, a motorcycle driver narrowly avoided a fatal accident after crashing into the curb of a U-turn on the Transístmica highway at the 8-mile mark in San Miguelito. Fortunately, the incident did not cost the rider his life and was captured on camera by the San Miguelito Municipal Surveillance System. The footage shows the man, although the road was clear at that moment, driving along the very edge of the roadway. Just meters from the start of the U-turn, he invades the lane. The motorcycle jumps, and the driver ends up injured on the road, a couple of meters ahead of the impact point. Units from the National Police's 'Linces' and paramedics from the Social Security Fund (CSS) arrived at the scene, evaluated him, and transferred him to a nearby medical center. It is presumed that driver distraction could be the cause of this traffic incident, which fortunately did not result in anything more serious.
