The mayor of San Miguelito, Irma Hernández, reported that meetings and technical tables will continue today along with a tour of different points. On the other hand, the mayor stated that since November, Revisalud, the current company, reduced the frequency of collection, causing the problem to grow. 'December is the month where the most garbage is generated and even so the company practically jumped ship before the contract ended,' the official told Telemetro Reporta. Meanwhile, Hernández requested the support of the population and asked not to let unknown people handle the waste and to pay the fee, which is $4 monthly. 'We need the collaboration of the inhabitants of San Miguelito,' she added. Until January 18, the Urban and Domestic Cleaning Authority (AAUD) will support the district in the collection of waste and debris, following the instruction from President José Raúl Mulino, to avoid a health crisis. In addition, she reported that she has already had a first meeting with the companies and councilors of each zone.
