Fatal Traffic Accident in Chiriquí

On Tuesday around 1:00 AM, 20-year-old Manfred Dani Rivera González died after the white pickup truck he was driving was involved in a collision with a truck, in front of the Cold Chain in Paso Ancho, Volcán, Tierras Altas (Chiriquí). The impact between the two vehicles was so strong that the entire front part of the pickup was destroyed, and Rivera was trapped inside. This other collision took place in the Silla Pando sector, in front of the entrance to Los Pozos, in the Nueva California district, in the district of Tierras Altas, in the province of Chiriquí. Firefighters from the Volcán station responded to the traffic accident and had to use specialized equipment (the 'jaws of life') to extract the body from the twisted metal. As expected, the mulano-type truck suffered greater damage and its driver ended up unharmed, but he was placed under police custody while being presented before a guarantees judge, who will determine if he is charged with the crime of intentional homicide. With this new death, the number of fatal traffic accident victims in the province of Chiriquí so far this year rises to seven. Just yesterday afternoon, Alex Donay Jiménez Pittí (38 years old) died in a similar collision; he was allegedly the brother of deputy Medín Jiménez for circuit 4-4.
