Two workers from an electrical cable installation company died on Friday afternoon while working on fiber optic lines in the Altos de Los Ruíces sector, district of Las Palmas, in Veraguas. The incident occurred in the middle of the workday, witnessed by area residents.
Authorities from the Public Ministry and other agencies arrived at the scene to launch the corresponding investigations. So far, there is no official version regarding how the events took place, nor has it been detailed if the victims were transferred to a nearby medical center.
Unofficial reports indicate that two other workers were injured but remain stable and out of danger. Both affected individuals were treated by emergency units. The community remains stunned by the tragedy.
