Taylor Swift released her new video, 'Opalite', on Friday, surrounding herself with many famous faces: Domnhall Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Greta Lee star alongside the singer in a story with an 80s aesthetic. The video was released exclusively on Spotify Premium and Apple Music, so fans who are not subscribers to these platforms will have to wait until Sunday to see it on YouTube, according to a statement from Universal Music Spain. This decision by the singer comes after Billboard magazine announced that for its charts, it would give more weight to listening and viewing data from paid platforms over ad-supported ones like YouTube. Therefore, YouTube decided to stop providing its music data to Billboard and demands that 'every play be counted fairly and equitably, whether by subscription or by advertising, because every fan matters and every play should count.' For now, Spotify Premium and Apple Music subscribers can already enjoy the video for a track that is part of the album 'The Life of a Showgirl', which Swift released in October 2025 and from which the video for 'The Fate of Ophelia' was also released. The 'Opalite' video begins like a television commercial for a cleaning product of the same name, which a teenage Swift is watching in her room. Gleeson is Swift's love interest; Lee plays a singer on MTV; Turner-Smith is an aerobics instructor; Lewis Capaldi is the photographer immortalizing the lovebirds; Cillian Murphy is the face advertising 'Opalite': Kameron Saunders, a member of a dance competition jury, and Graham Norton, the person who introduces the cleaner in a shopping mall. All with a fun aesthetic full of glitter and colors and with continuous nods to 80s American society, as well as a dance as ridiculous as it is eye-catching by Gleeson and Swift.
