Panama's Ministry of Security Deploys Over 30,000 Personnel for Carnival Safety

Panama's Ministry of Public Security announces the deployment of over 30,000 security personnel for the 2026 Carnival festivities. Minister Frank Abrego emphasized that the main goal is for everyone to return home safely.


The Ministry of Public Security calls on the public to celebrate responsibly, especially in the care of girls and boys, remembering that security is built by everyone.

During the Carnival festivities, more than 30,000 members of the Public Force will be deployed, announced the Minister of Security, Frank Abrego, during a press conference at the Las Tablas police barracks.

“Our priority is clear: for every person to return home safely,” reiterated the minister, highlighting the advance planning and coordination of all security entities at the national level.

“Safe Carnival 2026”: enjoying is possible when safety is present.

It was reported that the operation will begin before Carnival and will remain active throughout the festivities, with the purpose of preventing incidents, protecting life, and ensuring that Panamanians and visitors can enjoy themselves with tranquility and order.

Also present at the press conference were the governor of the Los Santos province, Fernando González, the director of the National Aeronaval Service, Luis De Gracia, the director of the National Border Service, Larry Solís, and the deputy director of the National Police, Francisco Antonio Castro.
