A tragic accident occurred on Saturday during Carnival celebrations. Francisco Mojica, a 53-year-old man, lost his life in El Carrasco, Veraguas province. He was attempting to climb down a palm tree over 20 meters high with a bunch of coconuts when a heavy racimo suddenly fell and struck him on the head. The impact caused him to lose his balance and fall from a considerable height. Despite desperate attempts by relatives, including his son, to resuscitate him at the scene, he died almost instantly. National police and relevant services arrived at the location to cordon off the area and begin an investigation.
