Panama - A total of 25 pounds of Carey turtle scales were seized by the Caribbean Second Brigade of Panama's National Border Service (Senafront) in the Guna Yala region during the 'Seguro 2026' carnival operation. This seizure was carried out with the support of the Guna General Congress in the Soledad Miria indigenous community. Senafront coordinated with the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Environment for the corresponding procedures and for the transfer of the seized evidence. Marine turtle species are protected; hunting, trading, possession, or ownership of their products and by-products is prohibited and punishable.
