Panama - José Antonio Santos Degracia, 40, died yesterday afternoon in the midst of a confusing incident that occurred in the Fonseca River, located in the district of San Félix, Chiriquí province. According to the victim's cousin, they were in the river when he handed him his legal firearm, pointing it at José's chest with his finger on the trigger. Supposedly, José pressed the trigger, and the bullet caused him a wound in the chest, so he had to be urgently transferred to the San Félix Hospital, where he arrived dead. The incident was reported to the authorities, so personnel from the Chiriquí Homicides and Femicides Prosecutor's Office went to the hospital to collaborate in the corpse removal procedure. Now, José's cousin, also 40 years old, must face a summary investigation against him, which is being advanced for the crime of negligent homicide.
