Two Die in Panama Due to Strong Rip Currents

On Sunday afternoon in Panama, two people died at Juan Hombrón beach in the province of Coclé due to strong currents. A 65-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman drowned after being dragged by the waves while on the shore. Fishermen rescued them, but it was too late. Despite rescue efforts and first aid, the man died on the beach. The woman was transported to a health center, where she was later pronounced dead. The National System for Civil Protection (Sinaproc) had issued a warning for high waves and strong currents on the Pacific coast from March 14th to 16th and is urging the public to exercise extreme caution when entering the sea.
