The Federico Guardia Conte water treatment plant in Chilibre, Panama, will experience a slight decrease in the distribution of drinking water in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito. This situation will result in low pressure in high points next Tuesday, February 18, starting at 8:00 AM, and it is estimated to last approximately two hours.
The reason for this decrease in the supply of drinking water is that the technical team of IDAAN must attend to an oil leak in a motor located at the treated water pumping station of the Chilibre plant.
Once the necessary work to repair the oil leak has been completed, the drinking water supply is expected to gradually return to normal. It is estimated that the complete restoration of pressures in the system will take a recovery time.
In the words of the IDAAN authorities, 'It is important to carry out these maintenance interventions to ensure the quality and proper functioning of our facilities, in order to continue providing optimal service to the population.'
