Minsa Rejects Health Workers Strike

The Ministry of Health of Panama rejects the strike by workers in the sector. The entity announced that its facilities will remain open during regular hours despite the protests. The strike was called by health unions demanding better working conditions and salary increases.

Minsa assured that work is being done to strengthen the health system and urged workers to keep the dialogue open to address their concerns. Additionally, it emphasized the importance of ensuring patient care amid the pandemic.

In response, striking workers expressed their concern about working conditions, the lack of personal protective equipment, and the workload. They argued that these conditions affect their performance and put their health and that of patients at risk.

"We are fighting for dignified conditions in order to provide better service to the population. We ask the government to listen to our demands and seek solutions that benefit everyone," declared a union representative during the demonstration.
