Panama Conducts Patient Relocation Drill to New Hospital

Panamanian authorities met to coordinate the relocation of patients from the old hospital to a new one. The meeting involved representatives from the Social Security Fund, security forces, ATTT, the 911 emergency service, and the Colon Free Zone administration.

A coordination meeting for the patient relocation process was held with the authorities of the Social Security Fund (CSS), security forces, ATTT, the 911 emergency service, and the Colon Free Zone administration. The meeting significantly advanced the coordination for the move of health departments and services from the current Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital in the city of Colon to the new and modern hospital complex, located behind the Hugo Spadafora Polyclinic in the Cristóbal Este district. The CSS has apologized in advance to the people of Colon for the inconvenience this process may cause, which will benefit the more than 280,000 residents in the coming days. A drill will be conducted on Monday, December 1st, at 10:00 AM. The route will start at the current hospital, go down Calle 11 Avenida Meléndez to Calle 15, then turn onto Avenida Amed Waked. A one-way traffic system will be enabled in the trans-isthmus area to reach the new hospital. The administration will provide timely information about the entire moving process to the new hospital.
