This morning in Chitré, Panama, a traffic incident occurred involving an elderly man. A 76-year-old man was hit by a taxi at a crosswalk in the Monagrillo area. According to eyewitnesses, the victim was attempting to cross the road at a designated crossing when a vehicle struck him. The incident was captured on a security camera at 11:00 AM. As a result of the accident, the man sustained serious injuries and was urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Gustavo Nelson Collado Hospital. According to medical sources, the victim is in critical condition: he suffered polytrauma, is intubated, and on mechanical ventilation. The victim is a local resident from the Achiote area in La Marañona de Chitré. His condition is reported as stable but remains critical.
