This birth occurred amidst the gradual relocation of the emergency department to the new hospital, a project long awaited by the Colón community. The delivery took place on the morning of Thursday, December 4th, when the medical staff attended to the birth in these newly inaugurated facilities, equipped with cutting-edge technology to provide modern and safe care. A baby boy was the first birth recorded at the new Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, located behind the Hugo Spadafora Polyclinic, in the corregimiento of Cristóbal Este, Colón province. According to the Social Security Fund (Caja de Seguro Social - CSS), the baby was born at 9:30 a.m., and both the mother and child remain under medical care at the new hospital center until they are discharged. A new hospital, a new beginning... and it was a boy who wrote the first chapter. First, a mock move was carried out, followed by the official relocation of the emergency room. The plan involves continuing the complete migration of services to these spacious facilities now administered by the Social Security Fund, a project driven by the Ministry of Health and inaugurated for operation during this administration.
