Wind Strong, Sea Restless: Weather in Panama

In Panama, the weather remains dry and windy, with the Pacific Ocean under alert, according to the latest report from the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama (Imhpa). The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to lose strength, and the trade winds are blowing with force. The result is felt on the streets: marked summer weather in both the Caribbean and the Pacific. In the Caribbean, the morning begins with passing clouds. In the Pacific, the impact is greater: north-northwest winds in the morning can reach 35-39 km/h, decreasing slightly as the day progresses. The difference is noticeable at sea. This Sunday, the weather will be felt and it's not to be taken lightly. It's not steady or constant rain, but isolated showers are possible in the Ngäbe Buglé and Guna Yala regions, as well as in Colón, northern Veraguas, and Bocas del Toro, especially as the afternoon and night advance. On the Pacific side, the day starts with partly cloudy skies and light drizzles in East Panama. Later, without much fanfare, light showers may appear in East Panama, Darién, southern Veraguas, the Azuero Peninsula, the Highlands of Chiriquí, and the Ngäbe Buglé region. The heat will be felt. A warning for winds, waves, and rip currents remains in effect, with waves up to 0.91 meters and periods of 12 seconds. This Sunday, January 11th, is not for letting your guard down. In the Caribbean, a northeast wind blows at 15-30 km/h. Minimum temperatures will range between 14°C and 25°C, but maximums can reach up to 33°C, and with the sun directly overhead, the thermal sensation increases, especially at midday. UV-B radiation indices will be high and very high for much of the day. The message is simple, without frills: the wind is strong, the sea is restless, and the sun is relentless.
