The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) reported that it will carry out scheduled maintenance work at several water purification plants in the country. These works will be carried out with the aim of optimizing the drinking water service during the week of March 1 to 8. It was detailed that in the province of Chiriquí, maintenance work will be carried out at the Los Algarrobos water purification plant, in the district of David. The work will be carried out on Wednesday, March 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The areas that could be affected by these works are: the upper part of David, Las Lomas and David Cabecera, due to work on the 18-inch conduction line. Meanwhile, in the province of Coclé, specifically in the district of Penonomé, the work is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. During this period, sectors such as Penonomé center, Chigoré, El Carmen, Cristo Rey, Paseo del Río, Villas de Llano Marín, the CRUC area, Cerro Centenario, 8 de Diciembre, Miraflores, El Prado and Altos del Prado may experience low pressure or temporary suspension of the water supply. IDAAN recommended that users take the necessary precautions, such as storing water in advance, since the supply will be progressively restored once the maintenance work is completed.
Scheduled Water Shutdowns in Chiriquí and Coclé Provinces
