Water from the sky for schools! Four schools in Coclé are supplied with rainwater

Four schools in the province of Coclé have started to be supplied with water through rainwater harvesting systems. These systems will operate with collection gutters, activated carbon filters, storage tanks, a pump, and a distribution system.

This system is part of the "Rain of Happiness" program, promoted by the government, which will be implemented in 15 school centers in this province as a guarantee of providing quality drinking water to school communities.

Betzabe Ibarra, director of the 'José De Gracia Fernández' educational center, in the Rio Grande district, stated that this water collection system will allow for food preparation and improve sanitary conditions at the school. She added that every year, due to the depletion of water sources, it was necessary to work with staggered hours at the school.

The 'José De Gracia Fernández' educational center, with a school population of 125 students and eight teachers, is located in the Rio Grande district, an area with water supply problems. The system installed at this school represented an investment of $15,000.
