President José Raúl Mulino has called for accelerating actions to address the water issue in the country. 'The water issue is of utmost importance to President José Raúl Mulino, and this meeting responds to his instruction to seek solutions to the national water problem,' expressed the minister. The Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, convened an urgent meeting to devise a strategy that allows for the immediate resolution of potable water supply problems affecting several communities nationwide. The meeting took place at the IDAAN headquarters, where also the Secretary of Goals, José Ramón Icaza, the acting director of IDAAN, Luis Santanach, along with members of the institution's board of directors, and Antonio Tercero, executive secretary of the National Council for Sustainable Development (Conades), participated. During the meeting, Santanach presented a snapshot of the current water situation, especially in the provinces of Herrera and Los Santos, where the supply has raised concerns in several communities, as well as other points in the national territory that are also facing difficulties. As part of the strategy, IDAAN was instructed to present a detailed report this Thursday, March 12, to the Ministry of the Presidency. The water issue has once again been placed on the government's agenda. In that document, they must explain the institution's actual state and which areas of the country require more urgent attention to improve the supply. Orillac made it clear that the issue comes directly from the presidential office.
