The Ministry of Health (MINSA) has called on health science professionals who received fitness to practice certifications during the pandemic to complete the process and retrieve the original document.

According to the Public Health Technical Council, the notice is directed at those who obtained their fitness certifications between May 12, 2020, and April 11, 2023, a period during which certifications were issued to strengthen the health system during the public health emergency.

Authorities indicated that those who submitted their application by email must go to the Secretariat of the Public Health Technical Council with authentic documents to complete the process and withdraw their original certification.

Additionally, they must pay the stamp tax and corresponding fees at the treasury of the Ministry of Health of Panama.

In the case of doctors who obtained provisional fitness to practice during the COVID-19 pandemic, they will also have to appear before the Secretariat of the Public Health Technical Council, bring their original documents, copies for verification, and make the required payments to formalize their professional certification.
