Debate on the Social Security Law in Panama

The Health Commission of the National Assembly invites 130 registered participants to discuss the Social Security Bill. The aim is to enrich the analysis with concrete proposals.

About 130 registered participants will take part in the discussions of the first debate on the draft law regarding Social Security and the Disability, Old Age and Death program in the Health Commission of the National Assembly. The president deputy Alain Cedeño urged participants to read the full draft law and formulate specific questions, seeking proposals that enrich the analysis.

"There will be a period of 15 minutes and what we want is for them to come with consonant proposals that enrich the analysis," said Cedeño, highlighting the importance of the project benefiting the Panamanian people. The need for technical evaluations with the participation of all involved sectors was emphasized, steering away from the political focus to improve the project in a comprehensive manner.

Cedeño pointed out that in-person and technical consultation mechanisms are being sought to enrich the analysis of the draft law. The goal is to ensure that the resulting legislation is beneficial for the nation, correcting and technically evaluating each aspect collaboratively. The priority is to safeguard the well-being of the Panamanian people through solid and equitable legislation that responds to the needs of the population.
