The legal defense of former minister Demetrio Papadimitriu, represented by attorney Rolando Rodríguez, is confident in demonstrating their client's innocence in the hearing that begins today regarding his relationship with the now-defunct Brazilian company Odebrecht.
"We have enough evidence, including several statements issued by banking entities, that demonstrate Papadimitriu's economic-financial management and were presented in another process in which he was definitively acquitted," states attorney Rodríguez.
The lawyer adds that they have investigated the justifiable history of their client’s assets, demonstrating that there was no transaction between him and the company Odebrecht. They trust that the court will objectively weigh the evidence presented and will deliver a favorable verdict.
"My client's assets, acquired over several decades after a hard-fought family business effort, come from legitimate sources. Papadimitriu's companies provide jobs to more than 500 families, mainly women who support their households," Rodríguez emphasizes.
